Literacy Pajama Fun Day!

February is Literacy Month where we celebrate reading! Kindergarten had many parents come read to our class, we visited the book, bought books and got to celebrate Literacy Pajama Fun Day! We started off the day by making our very own bookmarks which Morah explained what they were and how to use them. We then had the first and second grade classes come in and read books that they wrote on their own. What a special treat! We are in the middle of writing our own How To books and will be hanging them in our classroom when they are done. Last Morah read, Ira's Sleepover. Before reading the book we changed into our pajamas and spoke about what we need to pack to go on a sleepover. Each child had their own ideas. Morah had a writing page with a picture of a suitcase on it that we had to write and draw what we would pack. Then, we gathered on the rug to snuggle for the story and listen to soft, relaxing music. Reading really is fun!
