Handwriting!

In Kindergarten we use a program called Handwriting Without Tears to teach handwriting. It is a fun and hands on way to learn the proper formation of letters. As seen in the photos below, we learn how to properly form a letter at the board, then we listen to a fantastic CD that goes along with the program, and do the formation of the letters in the air, which reinforces what was taught. The children love the CD! After, we break up into centers. Some examples of centers are wooden pieces to form the letters, play-doh, magnetic boards, chalk boards, workbooks and sentence strips. Morah is always leading the workbook or sentence strip center to make sure we are doing the proper steps. We love handwriting!
