Over the past few weeks, kindergarten has been discussing our country, where it's located on a map, how many states we have, The American Flag, The White House and so much more. We also talked about our country's leaders and their responsibilities. Kindergarten discussed who the current president is and that there was going to be an election. Morah explained what an election is and how we vote. We know some requirements to allow us to vote as well as how lucky we are to be able to do so.
Today we had our very own Mazel Day School election. There was a booth set up for privacy. One at a time, each student placed their ballot in the bowl under the picture of the candidate they chose. The votes were then counted and contrary to popular belief...Mitt Romney won! The children went wild and were cheering.
