Caterpillars to Butterflies

Kindergarten had some visitors! We were given a container with baby caterpillars. There were holes made in the lid to make sure the caterpillars were getting air. We learned about the life cycle of a butterfly as well as read, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Kindergarten also learned a song about it! Kindergarten also got to watch the life cycle right before their very eyes! Our caterpillars started out very small and after eating and eating, they got bigger and bigger. Eventually they formed cocoons at the top of the net and when they were ready, beautiful butterflies came out. When all of our butterflies were here, we let them all go!
