The Continent Box

Kindergarten continues learning all about the lives of different children around the world. We compare and contrast their lives to ours. Morah Dawn's niece who lives in Efrat, Israel wrote a letter explaining how different her life is from when she lived in America and now in Israel. Gavriel, a family friend who is a soldier in Israel also wrote a letter to the children explaining what his daily life is like.
We continued talking about different areas around the world and how the children there live. We also had the opportunity to pull out our continent box which shows where various animals come from. The children loved playing with it.

Happy Birthday Ari!

Today we celebrated Ari's 6th Birthday! The children made cards for him, gave special birthday wishes and danced around him. We also had the opportunity to do a mitzvah and give tzedakah. After the fun, we sat down to enjoy some yummy cupcakes! Thank you to Ari's mom and baby brother for coming and celebrating with us.

Dentist comes to visit

We had the privilege of having Mayas dad who is a dentist to come visit our school and tell us a little about what a dentist does and how we can take care of our teeth. The students each received a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss as a souvenir. 

Prospect Park Zoo

Kindergarten went to the Prospect Park Zoo! We had a workshop, learning about the various animals at the zoo. The children even got to pet a real rabbit! After the workshop, everyone got the opportunity to play in the dress up area, pretend to be a veterinarian, cook in a toy kitchen, sit in a tepee and more.
The children then went to tour the zoo and see the various animals. They went to the barn, pretended to be turtles sat in egg shells pretending to have hatched. What a beautiful day!
