Labeling Our Room Writing Practice

Kindergarten practiced their writing skills by labeling various things in our classroom. In kindergarten it is not as important to spell the words correctly as it is to get all the sounds in the word down and be able to read it back. The children took index cards and pencils and walked the room sounding out the various things they saw and wrote it down. They were sounding out the sounds so carefully as they wrote. The were so proud of themselves for being able to write!
This is a great way to review at home too!
